Halloween treats to avoid: Dum-Dums for Dumb-Dumbs

October 27, 2012 |

Halloween is looming next week but the spooky thing is not in the costumes and decorations. To me it’s in what is offered for trick-or-treat. Food additive terrorism intensifies on holidays, but unlike suicide terrorist bombing, food additive terrorism is not possible without consent of ignorant or careless consumers. What perhaps is designed to particularly attract moms and kids is that Dum-Dums pops of Spangler Candy Company (Ohio) are

“Free of Major Allergens”: milk, eggs, wheat, fish, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish.

Sadly, that’s where we are now: what was common healthy food for millenniums is now turned to be the “major allergens” to toss into a garbage can. Instead, pieces of sugar contaminated with biologically hostile chemicals like the artificial colors Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Blue 1 which may be the very contributors into growing allergy epidemic are what are offered for your child to lick, eat and enjoy… Happy Halloween!

Avoid Dum-Dums for Dumb-Dumbs!

Dum-Dums pops: Risk, Nutrition and Dye ContentDum-Dums pops: Risk, Nutrition and Dye Content

The DyeDiet diagram is alarmingly red, warning you about unacceptably high chemical risk DDFI = 41/8 ~ 5 and the nutritional value which is close to zero, DDNF = 8/54 ~ 0.1. It’s not a big surprise that the artificially colored and artificially flavored pieces of sugar do not contain fish and eggs! Unfortunately, there are so many other chemicals-enriched products on the market that should be avoided by human beings. Look at that artificial cupcakes; they should not even be considered as a food:

Here is another example of the kind: Lofthuose Frosted Sugar Cookies. Year after year they manage to sell the same health-damaging crap under different names. Last year it was “Frosted Sugar Cookies,” this year it is “Harvest Frosted Sugar Cookies” equally stuffed with dozens of chemicals and artificial colors. Remarkably, a container of the former ones has been kept on the floor of a living room for a year – no damage to the cookies occurred; no mold, no bacteria wanted the stuff. Real food would have been perished, but the Lofthouse cookies is something you can keep forever: this is not a food.

If we keep treating our children to his kind of stuff there is a good chance that, in addition to eggs, bread, fish and milk, they will develop allergy to pure water and fresh air. By eating this chemical inhuman food we are making ourselves less human. Above all, these lollipops and similar crap should be humiliating to touch for anyone with a residual human dignity.

Bottom line. People, maybe it’s not so easy, but try to stay humans, respect yourselves: Eat food, not food additives! Ignorance is what kills: don’t be another Dumb-Dumb, protect yourself and your loved ones from invasive food additive terrorism. Indeed, pure sugar for a couple of bucks per 10 pounds is less dangerous than these Dum-Dums pops. As an alternative, if you care, you can buy nutritious all-natural candies even from Jelly-Belly! Have a healthy Halloween!

This is the first time I have experienced Halloween in the states, I was so flabbergasted that all it consists of was kids dressing up and collecting pillowcases full of candy. Is that what it has been reduced to? This is truly a waste of money thrown away on toxic candy

    • DyeDiet DyeDiet says:

A good way to handle this is NOT to offer toxic candies to children. And this is one of the reasons why I am running the DyeDiet: EDUCATION.

I was given those in my speech class.
