Artificial colors of Jell-O

Strawberry, grape, apricot and other fruity desserts of Jell-O (Kraft Foods) are made of the same three ingredients: Sugar, gelatin and adipic acid. No fruits or berries.

Insignificant differences come with variations of the artificial colors and flavors. “Strawberry” means Red 40; “grape” means Red 40 plus Blue 1 and “apricot” means Yellow 6. The amounts of the food dyes detected in every container are given in the chart below.

As you can see from the above DyeDiet “Dyegrams”, all Jell-O formulations are of high risk and low nutritional value. Please avoid buying and eating a Jell-O dessert unless you are dangerously starving in a desert. A homemade gelatin dessert would be a much healthier alternative.
